I am located on the east side of town in the Hillside area, close to playgrounds at Hillside School and the Army, Navy, Airforce Community Centre.  Over the winter Helping Hands is walking distance to the Indoor Playground Society.

The kids and I have a structured (but flexible) day with circle time, directed and self led active play, stories, games and crafts. Weather permitting, we will have time outside to play each day.  All children will have a nap or quiet time every afternoon to recharge their batteries after our busy day.  Activities like puzzles or reading are ok for quiet time as long as they don’t prevent others from sleeping.

Available activities include dress up, role play, building with duplo or blocks, indoor play tents, ball pit, train table, parachute games, puzzles, magnets, play-dough, coloring books, baking, balls of various sizes, riding toys, water table, sprinkler fun, picnics in the back yard, sidewalk chalk, bubble machine, dolls and doll house, play kitchen and housekeeping area, tool bench, book corner, educational computer games (limited time for children 3 and over), singing and dancing, trips to the playground, and more.

We follow simple rules:

• We don’t hurt ourselves.
• We don’t hurt others. (with words or actions)
• We don’t hurt things. (furniture, toys, etc.)
• We use “walking feet” and “inside voices” in the house.
